Recently the Westport community approved a brand new swim, tennis and fitness club that is scheduled to begin construction in May 2008 with a targeted completion date in early 2009. The new Westport Sports Club will feature a brand new 5,000 square foot clubhouse with wraparound porch, a tennis pro shop, locker rooms, meeting rooms, member lounge and offices. The Club's 2,500 sq ft fitness center will have designated areas for weight machines, free weights and cardio workouts. Members will have access to the fitness center seven days a week, 24 hours a day. Personal training will be offered, along with aerobics, Pilates and yoga classes. the club will also include a 5,000 sq ft Jr Olympic sized pool with swimming lanes, a water slide and splash park for children. The tennis facility will include nine lighted clay courts with shaded seating areas for players and spectators. A 2,000 sq ft wraparound porch will provide first court type viewing for many courts. The club tennis professional will offer lessons for adults and children. The year round program will include seasonal league play, a club tournament and club socials.

Closely located for neighborhood residents is the Westport Marina.  Westport Marina in Denver is the #1 marina on Lake Norman with 500+ boat capacity, full service dry storage up to 30 feet, lakefront drive up service, gas dock, food, drinks, parts and equipment. Westport Marina also has a full service repair center with certified technicians and lake call service available.
